What ทักษา is
A ring of eight planets that gives your auspicious colours, the colour to avoid and your birth-day number — and how we checked it
ทักษา, or ทักษาปกรณ์, is one of the principles of Thai astrology. It lays eight planets out in a ring and reads eight positions round from the planet of the day you were born. The eight each govern something different: บริวาร is the people around you, อายุ is health, เดช is authority and work, ศรี is fortune and success, มูละ is your financial standing, อุตสาหะ is perseverance, มนตรี is the seniors who back you, and กาลกิณี is obstruction.
The part people get wrong is the order of the ring. It does not run one, two, three through to eight. The texts state that 1 is บริวาร, 2 is อายุ, 3 is เดช, 4 is ศรี, 7 is มูละ, 5 is อุตสาหะ, 8 is มนตรี and 6 is กาลกิณี — so the order is one, two, three, four, seven, five, eight, six. Those two jumps are exactly why the colour tables that get copied from one place to the next look as though they came from nowhere.
Each planet carries both a colour and a number of its own. อาทิตย์ is one, red. จันทร์ is two, yellow or cream. อังคาร is three, pink. พุธ is four, green. พฤหัสบดี is five, orange. ศุกร์ is six, blue. เสาร์ is seven, purple. And ราหู is eight, brown or grey. So one ring gives two answers: which colours to wear, and which digits to want in a phone number.
We did not copy a table. We worked the ring out and set the result against two already-published tables that do not mention ทักษา at all. All eight cases matched, including the Wednesday-after-dusk case that sits under ราหู. Setting the digits against the auspicious-number tables the number shops use, all eight matched again. One ring, two published sets from different worlds, and both agree.
What we do not show is the colour for money and the colour for charm, because the sources we checked do not agree with each other. One and the same table puts the money colour for a Sunday birth at มูละ and the money colour for a Saturday birth at มนตรี — two positions for one subject, in one source. So we say the texts disagree rather than choosing a side on your behalf.
The other limitation is Wednesday. The texts split Wednesday into day and night: somebody born after dusk is held to be under ราหู rather than พุธ, and the colours and numbers shift right round the ring. Our daily-number page knows the date you were born and not the hour, so it gives the daytime values and says on the page itself what the other case would be.
All of this is a tradition that can be checked, not a prediction. The texts say which planet sits in which position and which number or colour to avoid. They do not say why. So we give the position, and we do not promise that changing the colour of your shirt or changing your number changes your life.
